The Rotary Play Centre is a free drop-in program for parents/caregivers and their child(ren) between the ages of 0-5 years. Based on the Strong Start model, this space offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere where parents/caregivers are able to share and learn new ways to support their child’s learning through play both at the program and at home. The Rotary Play Centre is unique from Strong Start centres in that the space and programming has specific design elements especially for toddlers, eighteen to thirty-six months. Our program also offers a specialized Infant Area that was designed as a safe area for babies to engage in developmentally appropriate activities that promote growth in all areas of development. As Fort St. John is subject to such long winter months, we wanted to create a space and program that endeavors to meet the increasing need in our community for more opportunities for parents/caregivers of young children to link with one another as a means to decrease isolation and build greater community. We are excited for you to come and explore our newest program, the Rotary Play Centre.
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday’s hours are 9:00am to 12:00pm, Tuesday’s are 12:30pm to 3:30 pm, however, Friday afternoons are 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
