Our Mission Statement

“TO DEVELOP, COORDINATE AND PROVIDE QUALITY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES,IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE”.

Values and Belief Statements

At the Child Development Centre, we value and believe that..

Every individual and family has the potential for growth.

It is essential that all individuals and families have access to services and/or individualized programs that enhance learning and development. This includes opportunities to build on their strengths and to extend their support network.

Families are of primary importance in the development of individuals and their programs.

Services are most effective when families are actively involved with the planning and implementation of programs. The family is the best source of information about their child’s abilities and needs, and can provide the best support for their child to succeed.

Collaborative teamwork best meets the individual’s and family’s needs.

The team shall consist of the individual, the family and those professionals who can best meet the identified needs. This requires complete and unbiased information provided in a supportive manner so that informed decisions are made.

All individuals are entitled to equal rights and to be treated with dignity and respect.

Services should complement the existing individuals’ resources, honouring each individual’s racial, cultural, socio-economic and personal uniqueness.

Services are best provided as soon as a need is identified.

Individuals and families should have access to appropriate services as soon as possible. Effective early intervention increases the chance for success in all environments and lays the foundation for lifelong competency.
a

Every individual should have equal access to full community participation.

All individuals are valuable assets to their families and to their communities. Everyone is entitled to equal opportunities: to interact with their peers; to participate in activities that are developmentally appropriate and challenging; and to engage in interactions that are nurturing and fun.

Working partnerships within the community are beneficial for everyone.

Services are most effective when integrated across environments and support is provided through transitions. Together we can support individuals and their families and promote understanding and acceptance of all individuals in the community.
